Sound familiar?

You ache or feel tired after being on your feet for a while — especially hard surfaces.
Your back feels heavy or compressed.
You catch yourself wanting to rest to one side or lean on something.
You feel better the moment you sit down.
Walking can feel good at first — but long distances often leave your back worse off.

Your free Hanger reset exercise.

This is the first exercise we give every Hanger — designed to start restoring your alignment so the weight can shift off your joints and back onto your muscles. If you feel the difference between hanging and properly aligned, that's the Hanger program's foundation in one movement.

What is a Hanger?

Most Hangers think they just need to stand up straighter or push their shoulders back. But for your back type, standing tall isn't the problem — it's that your body has learned to hang off its joints instead of holding itself up.

When you lean back, let your hips drift forward of your ankles, and sit your weight through your forefoot, your muscles switch off and your body settles onto its joints. It feels effortless — because there's nothing actively holding you up. But joints can only take that load briefly, not for hours. That's where the aching, the heaviness, and the relief you feel the moment you take the pressure off all come from. The Hanger program targets what the pattern has taken — alignment, muscular support, and postural endurance.

This is the approach the research points to — the evidence on chronic back pain supports exercise-led, movement-based methods for long-term change.

Who built your program

Troy Sandley

Founder · Physiotherapist

I'm Troy Sandley — a physiotherapist with a clinical focus on the spine and pelvis. I've spent my career working as a consultant on complex spinal cases, often receiving referrals from doctors, surgeons, and other physiotherapists. High-quality physio care is expensive, time-consuming, and not available everywhere — I built Spinal Health Hub to change that.

Built on the research

The clinical framework behind your program.

The Spinal Health Hub framework is informed by the mechanism-based classification work of Professor Peter O'Sullivan — one of the most cited physiotherapy researchers in the world. O'Sullivan's work and the RESTORE trial in The Lancet (2023) support exercise-led, movement-informed approaches to back pain; Spinal Health Hub applies this thinking in a consumer-focused educational format. Professor O'Sullivan is not affiliated with Spinal Health Hub.
